Ieri sera avevo solo mezz'ora di tempo, un cuoricino che "avanzava" da uno dei miei primi esperimenti di ricamo a macchina e niente macchina da cucire perché dovevo stare un po' col mio piccolino così, grazie ai consigli della ormai per me preziosissima Lella, ho fatto questo portaocchiali che io però userò come astuccio per le piccole cose del cucito.

Last night I had only half an hour, a little heart that "advanced" by one of my first experiments in machine embroidery and no  sewing machine because I had to spend some time with my little boy, so thanks to the advice of the now for me precious Lella, I did this sunglasses pouch that I'll use for small sewing  tools.

E' un progetto veloce e facilissimo da realizzare, anche per chi non sa o non vuole cucire a macchina.

Qual è il tuo film preferito? Aiuto! In passato ero una cinefila ma da quando ho un bimbo chi ha più tempo per i film? Recentemente ho rivisto molto volentieri “Magnolia” e poi non disdegno le cose più frivole tipo “Il Diavolo veste Prada” e “Sex and the City” non fosse altro che per lo sfoggio di abiti fantastici!!!

Dove ti piacerebbe vivere? Oh questa è bella: vorrei avere un B&B in un’isola greca e intrattenere i miei ospiti con corsi di cucito e di cucina italiana!

Quante paia di scarpe possiedi? E chi può dirlo? E poi perché, dei sandali non vogliamo parlarne?

What is your favorite movie? Help! In the past I was a film buff but since I have a child who has time for movies? Where would you like to live? Oh this is beautiful: I wish I have a B & B on a Greek island and entertain my guests with sewing classes and Italian cuisine!

Today I want to show you the Tilda Garden I've realized with Fede' sal "Creiamo Insieme"

Carina vero?
Non me ne vogliano le puriste, la sfida per me è stata quella di realizzarla a costo zero col materiale che potevo reperire in casa.
Avevo un paio di pantaloni che non usavo più ma erano bianchi e io volevo utilizzarli per viso, braccia e gambe della bambola: quattro bustine di tè e un bel risciacquo con aceto per fissare (ancora grazie al Forum Rosa per i consigli) e ho ottenuto una bella tonalità di beige perfetta per lo scopo! A sinistra vedete il prima, a destra il dopo:

The challenge for me was to realize it at no cost with the material that I could find at home. I had a pair of pants that I didn't use any more, but they were white and I wanted to use them for face, arms and legs of the doll. Four tea bags and a good rinse with vinegar to fix (again thanks to Pink Forum for advice) and I got a nice shade of beige perfect for the purpose! On the left you see how it was before, on the right after the cure:

Questa invece è la stoffina a fiori di una camicetta che purtroppo, per sopraggiunti limiti di età e soprattutto di taglia, non posso più indossare. Era molto leggera e trasparente, poco adatta da imbottire, così l'ho rinforzata con la telina adesiva che si usa per i colletti delle camicie:

This is the fabric of a floral blouse that I can no longer wear. It was very light and transparent poorly suited to fill with stuffing so I reinforced it with adhesive fabric that is used for the collars of shirts:

Un po' di pazienza per imbottire il tutto e questa è Tilda appena alzata, col suo underwear a fiorellini!
Sbadiglia ancora!

Con un tessuto di jeans e un tessuto di cotone che avevo in casa ho realizzato la salopette ed ecco Tilda pronta per uscire!

With a jeans fabric and a cotton fabric I had at home I made the salopette and Tilda is ready to go!

Il sal non è ancora concluso, mancano gli ultimi due ricami e l'ultimo riserverà delle belle sorprese!

The sal is not yet complete, there are two other embroideries and the last one will be a big surprise!

A proposito di ricamo non vi ho mostrato il decoro pasquale che ho realizzato grazie al sal della dolcissima Gabriella: si tratta del mio primissimo ricamo a punto croce, quindi vi prego di essere comprensive (non avete idea di quanto sia orribile il retro ma ero già molto concentrata a rendere presentabile il davanti)!!!

Talking about embroidery I have not shown the Easter decoration I made thanks to Gabriella' sal: This is my very first cross stitch, so please be patients (you have no idea how horrible the back side is but I was already highly concentrated to make it presentable on the front side)!

Direi che col secondo ricamo sta andando decisamente meglio ma lascerò giudicare a voi esperte e all'impietoso occhio della fotocamera (questa foto ingrandita mostra tutte le mie carenze)!!!

I would say that with the second embroidery is going much better but I'll ask you expert to judge!

Si tratta di una lavagnetta con calamite in fimo sulla quale raccogliere i miei appunti e le mie foto: in questo momento il segnalibro con i tulipani sta facendo bella mostra di sé tra fiori e apine. Il fiore in tessuto che vedete in alto invece è una bella spilla che decorava il pacchetto.

This is a slate with polymer clay magnets on which to collect my notes and my photos. The fabric flower that you see at the top is a beautiful pin that adorned the package.

Mug-Rug o Mouse-Pad?

Il Pulcino Pasqualino già lo conoscete, così oggi vorrei mostrarvi il secondo dono che ho creato per lo swap di primavera organizzato tra alcune bloggers iscritte al forum di cucito Let's sew.
Si tratta di un lavoro in cui ho riunito le tecniche base del patchwork e dell'appliqué e sul quale ho voluto sperimentare alcuni dei ricami di cui è dotata la mia macchina da cucire.

You already know my Easter Chick, so today I want to show you the second gift I made for the Spring Swap between some bloggers members  of the sewing forum Let's sew.
This is a job where I’ve used the basic techniques of patchwork and appliqué and on which I wanted to experience some of my sewing machine  embroidery stitches.

Sapevo che la destinataria del mio dono ama fare colazione con calma la mattina ma sapevo anche che passa molto tempo al computer ad aggiornare il suo blog Home Made by GipaGipa e a scambiare opinioni e informazioni sulle varie tecniche di cucito con noi del forum, così è nato questo tappetino dal duplice uso:

I knew that the recipient of my gift loves to have leisurely breakfast in the morning but I also knew that she spends much time on the computer updating her blog Home Made by GipaGipa and exchanging information on various sewing techniques with us in the forum, thus was born this dual-use rug:

Il segreto? Un quadrato di gomma anti-scivolo a rifinire il retro del lavoro.
