finalmente un po' di cucito creativo! Questa è una pochette portachiavi che ho realizzato con il cartamodello di Fabulous Home Sewn

Il cartamodello offre quattro possibilità per la realizzazione dell'inserto centrale: pieghe casuali (quello che ho scelto io), pieghe accostate, leggera arricciatura o "crazy patchwork".
Offre inoltre la possibilità di scegliere tra due misure, la piccola per una pochette di cm 9x11 circa e la grande per una pochette di cm 14x9 circa.

Il progetto nasce come portamonete (dimensione piccola) o astuccio (dimensione grande), così vi propongo un breve tutorial per trasformarlo in portachiavi.

Ovviamente vi insegnerò solo come fare l'occhiello a cui attaccare la catena e come inserirlo nel progetto, per tutto il resto dovrete fare riferimento al tutorial, in inglese ma con tante foto esplicative, allegato al cartamodello.

Per prima cosa tagliate un rettangolo di tessuto delle dimensioni di cm 8x4

piegate i due lati più lunghi verso il centro e stirate:

Piegate ancora a metà e stirate: avrete una striscia di cm 8x1

Fissate in posizione con un paio di spilli e portatevi alla macchina da cucire:

Cucite con un margine di 3 mm circa

Piegate la striscia a metà (cm 4x1) e spillatela alla fodera dell'astuccio in modo che l'occhiello sia rivolto verso l'interno e il lato aperto verso l'esterno. La distanza tra la zip e l'anello in tessuto deve essere di 2 cm circa.

Cucite la fodera seguendo il tutorial allegato al cartamodello: il risultato finale sarà questo:

Procuratevi una catenella per chiavi e fissatela all'occhiello in tessuto

Il vostro portachiavi è pronto per l'uso!

finally some creative sewing! This is a pouch that I made with the new pattern by Fabulous Home Sewn

The pattern offers four possibilities for the realization of the central panel: improvisational pleats (what I chose), measured pleats, gathered or pieced center. It also offers the choice between two sizes, small for a coin purse of about 4.25" x 3.5" and large for a case of about 7.25" x 5.5".

I want to propose a short tutorial to turn the coin purse into a keychain.


Obviously I will teach you just how to sew the loop to attach the chain and how to add this in the project, for everything else you will need to refer to the tutorial provided with the pattern

Cut a rectangle of fabric the size of 3 x 1.5"

fold the two longer sides towards the center and iron:

Fold in half again and iron: you will have a strip of about 3 x 0.37"

Keep everything in place with a couple of pins:

Topstitch at 1/8"

Fold the strip in half (1.5" x 0.37") and pin in place with the lining of the purse so that the loop is toward the inside and the open side to the outside. The distance between the zipper and the loop is about 1 inch.

Sew the lining following the tutorial provided with the pattern: you will and with something like this:

Use a chain for keys to join the keyring to the fabric loop

Your keychain is ready to use!

Mine looks like this on the back

And remember for your safety to not use this for car keys: I won't do, this will stay in my bag, these are the keys of my office! :-)
