Progetti conclusi e work in progress - Finished projects and work in progress

Ciao!

Piera

Ciao!

Mamma mia, it's a lot of time from my last post!

It's because I have to share my computer with my little boy; he's learning to use it and increasingly demands it!

Today a post full of pictures, here are my latest creations, first of all I'll show you what I've realized with with this bouclé yarn:

This creation "Amore di bimba" was intended to the showcase "Red, desire of Love" on our facebook page heARTmade Lab,

I enjoyed knitting with circular needles though, I admit, I'm still knitting too slow! I would love to learn to knit the continental way, when I look at videos of continental Knitters and see how fast they knit I envy them! But habits are hard to change, and since I was a child I'm an "English Knitter ", who knows if I ever will be able to change!

With the Infinity scarf  "Galaxies"  that you see below, intended to the showcase "Captain Harlock", I was back in my environment: the scarf is entirely machine-stitched, long ago I published a tutorial on how to do it, you can find it here

I like the colors of this scarf and then it's warm! The showcase is over, I am undecided whether to use it on my own or to sell it on the facebook page Clarabelle Couture: what can I do, I sew things and then I got fond of, so I keep these to myself or do everything so that they remain in family :-)

But now I show you the cape I'm working on, this time on commission, I can not keep it!

I had only 90 cm of wool fabric, theone with flowers but fortune favors the brave and while I was looking for the blue lining from my usual fabrics dealer fabrics, I found a this bouclé wool of the same color of the fabric chosen by my client!

The model is 3210 taken from Marfy 2013/2014, it  was one of the free patterns with the magazine:

I had to make some changes, first of all I eliminated the double-breasted. I also had to reduce the drapery on the back of the cape and I had to shorten it two inches. But I must say that overall I am satisfied with the result, as well as of the pattern fitting: now I have to sew the neck (which in the photo is only pinned), hem, lining, add buttons and I've finished! I'll put the pictures of the finished project.

And you, do you want to try to sew some outerwear? A cape could be the perfect garment to start with!

Finally a tribute to Anna, a reader who wrote to me asking for information on the Spiderman costume that I made for Niccolò: I was pleased to receive her email with the pictures of the costume she has sewn:

Anna has realized the web and the spider using 3d colors: the final effect is great, especially on the spider! The spider on the back instead is felt: as it happened to me, the legs are separating, I have hand- sewn these again but now Anna suggest a nice spider made with 3d red colors; even the mask is fabric, two layers of felt and 3d colors to make the design of the web, this time without interfering with the iron for fear of damaging the fabric.
I want to thank Anna for sharing with me the result and for allowing me to publish the pictures!

All for today, I wish you a good week!

xoxo,

Piera
