Regali, regali, regali!!! - It's raining gifts!!!

Ciao,
***

Hi,
Finally a bit 'of peace! I'm officially on vacation and I can take this opportunity to make a post with all the gifts made for this Christmas.
For starters I gave myself the temptation to make a casserole-carrier ... Except that I'm really into and I finally made eight!
Four for the teachers:

***
For my aunt, and my two cousins :

***
And one for a colleague always gentle that has a passion for pastry. I hope to be a good omen for the realization of her project: become a cake-designer!

***

There are many tutorials in internet, I followed the one by  Mubbletown  To make the labels I stitched the caracters on a tape and then I glued the pieces with hot glue on turquoise felt previously cut with the help of a rotary cutter.
They liked them so much, my sister in law who does not like to cook asked me for one!
I think I'll make a casserole-carrier with a cake and its recipe for her!

***

***
For the fashionista colleague I thought about a pair of gloves / sleeves: she really liked mine, so I re-presented them in black and I embellished them with beads.

***

I have suffered a little because the fabric lost the links as I passed with serger, so I had to catch again everything with crochet hook before making the hem. I learned two things:
The first is that I'm able to use a crochet hook!!!
The second is that the top and bottom edge of the glove are definitely not as thick as I feared: this experience will help me in my projects tailoring for the construction of meshes and cardigan!
Those who come to visit for the first time and want to make these gloves can find the tutorial here

***

***
For our grandfather a felt frame with a picture of his little grandson:

***
For my sister in law and my brother, I took inspiration from Pinterest and I made a Christmas tree with pictures of their journey together, marriage photos and some pictures with their little girl:

Manca solo un altro regalo: molte volte siamo indecise su cosa regalare agli uomini, io in particolare dovevo pensare a mio cognato e a mio zio.
***

In this case also, for lack of time, I decided to use the felt rather than the padded fabric. I cut six shapes that make up the tree and glued with hot glue. I then added the photos, tassels, pom-pom wool and decorated all over with white acrylic and glitter glue.
The only thing missing is another gift: often we are undecided about what to give to men, especially I had to think about my brother in law and my uncle. In the night between 25 and 26 I had the idea: it is a nice project that is realized in a short time and they really liked it for the originality.
I won't tell you more, in a short time I'll publish photos and tutorial!

Kisses and see you soon!

Bacioni e a presto!

Casetta Portachiavi, un piccolo dono subito pronto! - Little Cottage Keychain: a last minute gift!

Ciao,
***

Hi,
Today I show you something easy to do in half an hour and keep in your bag to reciprocate the "unexpected little gifts". I think it's happened to all of us that a kind person, in a totally unexpected, make us a present on the occasion of Christmas. This year I thought of a keychain cottage shaped, it seems a nice idea not to to be unprepared!

***
I was inspired by the little cottages I've seen on internet and by a keychain I discovered on Pinterest. I decided to use felt because it allows the realization of  fast projects and the result is nice.

***
If you like this idea all you have to do is cut the two shapes of the little cottage including the roof which should then be covered with white thinner felt. I used the hot glue and I covered both the roof of the front side and the back side. I then completed the front side with scraps of felt for the door and windows. Finally I sewed the front to the back, taking care to leave the top space for passing a string and the bottom opening large enough to pass key ring and keys.
Here's the pattern

***
What do you say, it seems pretty true? And then we can give free rein to imagination: cars, mushrooms, flowers, ladybugs, little hedgehogs, little bees, all that comes to mind!

I think the next few days will be hectic, so I take the opportunity of this post to wish you all Happy Holidays: A Merry Christmas to all of you, your loved ones and your wonderful children!

Kisses and soon,

- Weaving Loom and felt: another Christmas gift!

Ciao,
***

Hi,
a few days ago through the catalogs of games for children, I found this:

Potevo resistere? Nooo!!!
L'ho acquistato e l'ho portato a casa.
***

Could I resist? Nooo!
I purchased it and took it home. A little research on the web and I set to work:

***
I also ventured into the basics of making a pattern and this is the result:

***
Next time I'll detach a little more from the bottom: you don't know how difficult it was to tie the threads!

Buon lavoro a chi vorrà provare!!!

Now I want to move on to the next level, I'm seriously thinking of buying a weaving loom because it fascinates me since I was a little girl.
I'm torn between this one
and this one with the possibility of expanding: some of you can help me in choosing?

Now, for those who want to try this technique a little useful:
In this blog, "La nana gialla" you will find instructions on how to build a weaving loom like the one I used for this project, how to arm and to begin to weave. You will also find an explanation of technical terms.
This is the link:

"The cat came back" ovvero come nasce un'idea!

Ciao,
***

Hi,
Do you remember the Swap about recycling? Well, today I'll tell you how and an idea was born!
This is a folder for documents:

The cat came back the very next day"...
***
My colleague every day gives us those two pieces of plastic that you can see next to the folder. They regularly end up in the trash: what can they be used for?

I was undecided whether or not to join the swap, I wanted to do something different and completely change the intended use of one thing. I had the idea while I was helping my colleague preparing a couple of folders: I was humming a song by Fred Penner "The cat came back the very next day" ...
And the two pieces of plastic that usually end up in the trash became something like this:

I had found my idea!
A couple of days later I received an email from the newsletter of Marie Claire Idées, with the link to a website where you can download and print a kokeshi to use on cardboard to create a doll with decoupage tecnique...
And the two pieces of plastic became something like this:

***

I used the pieces as a template to draw the silhouette of a cat and a kokeshi, I colored with crayons, scanned, printed and cut out.
I have given a lot of hands of white acrylic to plastic pieces to prepare them, I used the printed images to make a decoupage on the two plastic pieces and protected them with three hands of polish. Some component of jewelery and this is the result:

Granny squares e Tutorial

Ciao,
Oggi voglio rendervi partecipi del mio primo lavoro all'uncinetto!
***
Hi,
Today I'd like to show you my very first crochet project!

Ecco i link:
Primo video
Secondo video
Terzo video
Quarto video
Quinto video
***
I joined some friends in a charity project, each of us had to crochet ten or more granny squares to create as many blankets as we can.
Granny square is one of the simplest but I'm not able to read a crochet pattern, my mind is not yet made up for it.
So for people like me who have difficulty but want, always want, very strongly want to learn, here are the tutorials I've found on web.
The first one is in Italian with pictures and you can find it here "Nella valigia della Buru"
The second one consists of five videos in English. The movements are slow, often repeated and so easy to follow. Here the links:
First video
Second video
Third video
Fourth video
Fifth video
As always I hope this information will be helpful!
Now I'm going to prepare an envelope and tomorrow I'll send my Granny squares to Marilù that's waiting!!!

Kisses and see you soon,

Tutorial: come allungare pantaloni sportivi- Tutorial: How to lengthen sport pants

Ciao,
 ***
Hi,
I thought of this as a tutorial for mums but I realized that it can be useful in many occasions!
The idea, as always, comes from the need in this case to recover a suit of my baby still in perfect condition but suddenly become too short. In my case I also decided to change the elastic band at the waist that seemed too tight and put two patches on  knees.

***
For this project you will need:

seam-ripper, elastic two cm high and long as the waist of the child minus two cm, patches for knee (you can do it yourself with the this tutorial), sewing machine, scissors, pins, and finally the object that will allow you to to reach your goal: knit cuffs! You can choose them the same color as the suit or contrasting color.

 ***
First unstitch the hem of the pants. In my case the elastic waist was stopped by three seams and to be able to extract it I had to rip all the seams on the waist.
I discovered on Pinterest this video that explains seven ways to sew a rubber band:  I used the second method for this project.
Of course if you do not need to change the elastic band you can skip this part.
Apply the patch if necessary, ironing first into position and then finishing with a straight stitch or better yet an overlock stitch by hand or sewing machine.

Ora vediamo come allungare i pantaloni utilizzando i polsini.
***
Now let's see how to lengthen pants using cuffs.
Knit cuffs are tubular mesh and they're about ten cm long. You can use them to finish wrists or to finish the edges of suits and slacks.
Fold the knit cuffs in half lengthwise taking care to keep the wrong side of the tubular mesh with the seam inside.

***
Turn over the pants so you can see the inside.
Enter the tubular mesh inside of the trouser legs so that the edges coincide with the edge of the trouser leg and taking care to match the seams of the tubolar mesh with the inner seam of the trousers.
Pin the fabrics first along the inner side seam, then on the opposite side.

Selezionate lunghezza punto  1   e larghezza punto 1.5.

***
Expose the free arm of the sewing machine. The circumference of the tubular mesh is shorter than that of the trousers' legs but the fabric is very extensible: sew and pull the tubular mesh in order to have two equal lengths.

Select an elastic zigzag stitch:

select stitch length 1 and stitch width 1.5.

Begin sewing at 0.75 cm from the edge: I start at the inside seam of the leg and proceed along the entire circumference taking care to gradually pull the knit tubolar so as to bring it to equal with the length of the leg circumference.

Proceed in the same way for the other leg.

***
Now select an overlock stitch like this for finishing, first on one leg and then on the other.

***
Turn over the pants and the job is done!

***
With the same tubular mesh I've lengthened the sleeves of a jacket belonging to my husband.

That's all for today, I hope I was clear and most of all useful but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me!

Kisses,
 ***

Io scappo a organizzarmi!

Un bacio,

Chiacchierino ad ago: la mia prima creazione! - Needle Tatting: my first project!

Ciao,
***
Hi,
I'm so excited, even with my laptop that goes so slowly, and despite not having the right tools - I bought a kit of needles "long enough" in a Din Hao shop - I must show you my very first creation with Tatting Needle tecnique:

***
This clover was made thanks to Mary: she has a YouTube channel on which she shares eleven videos about this tecnique!

So if you want to learn how to make this clover and others beautiful things this is the link of the first video of presentation and here is the link specifically to learn how to make the clover.

This is the sixth video, I still have to watch five, who knows what beautiful surprises I’ll find!

Ciao,

***
Hi,
Today I want to talk about a site from which I’m downloading several free cross stitch patterns: Cross Stitchers Club

Here's a preview of free embroidery patterns you can download today:

Dopo di che anche voi potrete cliccare si "earn points", poi su " Click here to see the url to click and the details about how this system works" e ricevere il codice da inserire nel vostro post per guadagnare punti all'iscrizione delle vostre followers.
***
The first scheme will be available for five days, the second for four, three the third, two the fourth and the fifth for one day. After that will be replaced with a new embroidery available for five days while the others are going to climb gradually.

To download these free patterns you will need to register for the club by filling out the form that will open by clicking on "Sign Up" at the top right. You'll have to give a valid e-mail, for the confirmation of registration after which you will receive no other. Membership is free. Once registered you can begin to download free patterns at the top right clicking on "Free embroidery patterns".

Besides you will also find free embroidery to download with points. When you will download these embroideries will take away 10 points from the mount points acquired.

To gain points you have several options: you’ll find everything by clicking on "earn points" always on your right. The way I chose to earn points is writing this post is: clicking on the link  Cross Stitchers Club  or entering the code urflvm when you subscribe you’ll allow me to gain 10 points. After you do that you can "earn points" getting the code to insert into your post for your entry followers.

I hope you have useful information, for any clarification e-mail me!

***

Hi,
Today, another quick post to show the jewel box created by the "sal learn" organized by Betty  in Megghy Forum:

***
It 'a little marvel created by combining two ancient techniques, cross-stitching and origami.
